Texarkana, Arkansas-Texas – Sunday, May 26, 1974
Harry J. Middelton, director of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library in Austin, Tex., will be the key speaker at the Texarkana, Tex., High School commencement exercises Saturday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Texarkana Community College Auditorium.
Middelton is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he was editor of the college paper, the Daily Reveille.
Since his college days and prior to his position at the LBJ Library, Middelton has been a reporter for the Associated Press, news editor for Architectural Forum Magazine, writer and director of the World War II newsreel, March of Time, a free-lance writer, Middelton has written articles for Reader’s Digest, Sports Illustrated, Collier’s, Cosmopolitan and Life. He has also published two books – The Compact History of the Korean War and a novel, Pax.
Diplomas will be presented by Texas-side school board members Herb Murray, Vic Hlavinka and Dr. Paul McCash.
Baccalaureate services for the class will be Sunday at 5 p.m. in the TCC Auditorium.
